A New Destiny
"Watch? Watch? I need your help." whispers Destiny as she takes a quick glance at her sleeping companions.
Silence.
Of course, Destiny thought. The poor imp has once again puffed out of existence, thanks once again to sustaining one attack or another. She does not have any ingredients left to perform the necessary ritual to bring him back. This sucks, because she really needs his help right now.
A cunning plan entered Destiny's little Tabaxi mind. She's a bit different these days, her mind has, it seems to her, become sharper, smarter and more cunning. The only way she can describe this new her is... better...
A spark of lightning flashes in her eyes. That's right, now-a-days actual lightning flashes in her eyes when she gets a bit over excited about things... because, she tells herself, she's... better...
She moves over to an empty space in the room a little away from her sleeping companions. She wouldn't want to accidentally electrocute them while she loses herself in her magic. She casts the now familiar spell to enter into the dreams of sleeping creatures. She knows this is not normally possible if that creature is in another realm, but something tells her that this will work if she concentrates. She closes her eyes. As sweat starts to drip from her forehead, small sparks dance and play between Destiny's finger tips. She feels the strain of the enormous effort needed to cross to another plane of existence, but she knows she has no choice. "I need you Watch!"... then...
Darkness.
"You've got to be kidding me!" came the familiar high pitch voice of the unfortunate looking Imp.
"It worked!" exclaimed Destiny.
"Where am I?" asks Watch as he glances around. There is nothing but darkness around them. Strangely though, they can see each other and there appears to be some kind of floor they're standing on. Although, they could just be floating.
"We're in your dream."
"Err, no because I wasn’t sleeping, I was grieving for my own little inferno world of fire, minding my own business and slowing going out of my mind until I suddenly find myself here... with you..."
"Oh, you were not sleeping? Don't you... actually, never mind. I came here because I need your help... like urgently."
Watch stares across the darkness at his mistress, who is animatedly chatting away oblivious to his attempts to convey annoyance. He could not help but feel that he much preferred going out of his mind in solitude.
"So here's the thing, we're at Vallaki right now and we killed that Wachter lady to liberate the town. This means the town is now ours!"
"Oh I see, it's liberated AND it's yours." Watch says ironically, knowing full well the irony will go right over his mistress.
"Exactly!" continues Destiny, "and tomorrow our plan is to tell everyone that they're free. And that's what I need you to do, to write the proclamation; because I'm not very good with these things."
Watch's stares in disbelief.
"Don't forget to talk about our great deeds and all that. It's important the people know that they have been saved by the mighty Heroes of Barovia and not just any old group. I'll be back in the morning for it. You can stay here until it's done. And one last thing, I'm thinking the town should have a new name to signal a new beginning. How about..."
Suddenly Destiny disappears, leaving Watch alone in the darkness. He gets to work... because he has no choice, but that doesn't mean he cannot have some fun. Perhaps Serenity and that werewolf woman will know irony even if Destiny does not. He lets out a chuckle.

"Citizens of Vallaki, hear ye, hear ye! The Heroes of Barovia have come to your town bearing news of their great triumphs and victories over all that is evil. In the western swamp, they faced the evil witch Baba Lysaga and vanquished her victoriously, freeing the land from her tyranny. In the mountains, they cleansed the corrupted Ample Temple, defeating countless monstrosities and rid the land of its dark influence. The twisted Revenants, who once patrolled the roads, mindlessly killing, have been defeated by these mighty Heroes of Barovia, and no longer threaten your safety!
Even the wolves, the eyes and ears of the evil madman Strahd, have been freed from his grasp and he no longer holds power over them! The Heroes of Barovia are surely the stuff of Legends, their bravery knows no bounds, their prowess on the battlefield is unmatched, and their victories are countless. Even here in Vallaki, they have recovered the sacred bones of Andralos from under Strahd's nose and a new church will be built in their name that will once again protect this town and all it's people from the devil Strahd and his underlings.
News of these great deeds must bring you great joy, and you may well sing songs of their bravery and tell tales of their glory. But the greatest news is surely this: - the Heroes of Barovia have liberated this town from the tyranny of Strahd. No longer must you worship this monster, no longer shall his minions roam our streets. For now he holds no power here! The Heroes of Barovia have rid us of his grip as they have throughout the land of Barovia for so many others! They have fought for your freedom, for your safety, and for your future!
It is with great pride and joy that we announce the changing of our town's name to New Destiny. A fitting name for a town that has been freed from its dark past and has been given a new future, a future full of hope and promise. So let us all celebrate this momentous occasion and look forward to a brighter tomorrow. For the Heroes of Barovia have brought us to the brink of a new beginning, and it is up to us to seize it with both hands.
Let us raise a cheer and sing praises to the Heroes of Barovia, for they have brought us to a New Destiny!"

"It's amazing, right?" Destiny said as she shows Serenity what she wrote on to town's notice board.
Serenity stares at Destiny, momentarily speechless, then thinks to herself, "Well, I guess it’s better than calling anywhere in Barovia ‘Serenity’, what does it matter anyway…”.
