Session 29: A ray of light
With a disappointed expression he stands up and follows Destiny. Serenity flew away at the first howling sound a while ago.
Taking a turn they reach what seems a wolf head, but made of stone. Destiny approached the entrance carefully on what seemed hours of care and stealth, under Hoskgak’s astonished expression. Serenity reappeared and kept back with Ireena hiding behind a rock. Someone was moving at the entrance. Finally, perhaps the pit boss. Maybe the orc will be able to put a show to a crowd today after all. Innocently Hoskgak waves at the humanoid and approaches him. He says some words but Hoskgak is unable to understand a word, as he continues the approach, the half orc realises his mistake. A wolf pack emerges from the entrance, and the humanoid is now a she, turning into a beast. He found the werewolves, but he now knows his end is here.
On a futile attempt to outrun the pack he jumps and leaps towards Serenity and Ireena, that realised the problem with enough time to put some distance. With limited time before the pack meets them, they get ready for the combat.
A few blows and some wolves are dead, the half orc, with his vision blurred by blood is unable to locate Serenity or Ireena. Destiny might have died or hided if she had some luck.
Completely surrounded by wolves, Hoskgak manages to endure some more bites and he gets count of a few more wolves, but they keep coming. This is the end. As he readies his next blow, the sword points up in the air. The once strong hand holding its grip is now relaxing. The sword falling to the ground shines a ray of light towards his bloodied head.
Hoskgak sees a flaming ray on his sword, at last, Andralos came. I did it mama, I got a glorious death, I just hope Serenity lives to tell my story.
