4.2 : Nightmares and Glory

Hoskgak was ready with his great-sword in hand, the arena was known to him but nobody watching. Just him and the empty ring. All of the sudden a horse neighed with his two front legs in the air, beautiful, confident but menacing. Out of the blue his face turns into a Dire-wolf, the right front leg still in the air turns into a huge claw that swings into Hoskgak's body. Looking down there is a deep cut without blood on his chest. Hoskgak gets a sudden rush and starts a series of movements and blows with his great-sword, the Dire-wolf is cut in half and as it falls it turns into a tiny wolf a few weeks old. The Half-orc turns to the arena, no one cheering, it is totally empty. A strange white light comes from the entrance.

Light, white, bright... Snow? Hoskgak is surrounded by rocks, the air he breathes its cold, dry and fills his lungs with a freezing sensation. At the horizon a chain of mountains, peaks and the endless path. The peak of the mountain has no sign, no one has been around for ages, or perhaps never. At the peak a hooded person shows up, faceless with a golden aura. His right hand moves inside his cloak, and pulls out a sword coated in flames. Andralos! Hoskgak runs to encounter him, 100 feet, 50 feet, the cloak and the hooded person vanish, the sword falls into the snow melting the surroundings. Hoskgak grabs the handle, and points to the air and the sky. The rocks become people, thousands or people, mountains of people cheering, clapping and screaming his name: Hoskgak, Hoskgak...

A dim light covers his face, Destiny is on top of him and there is no sign of the Vistani. Hoskgak doesn’t understand how he ended in the muddy ground. Again. As the dream vanishes one thing is clear to him. He has to find the weapon of vengeance, a sword of sunlight deep in the mountains, at the end of a long and winding road. There awaits him the glory, the recognition. Eternity.
